The following is a listing of the WELCA events planned for 2009 - 2010

WELCA Kick-off Coffee - Wednesday, September 2, 2009 @ 9:00 a.m.

Holiday Boutique and Bake Sale - Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 9 am – 3 pm
This event highlights area crafters and the delicious baked goods. Proceeds from this event are used for various benevolences and small special projects at church.

Angel Tree - Names placed on November 15, 2009; Gifts due back by December 6, 2009

About 150 names of preschool-aged children from Lutheran Day Nursery and Winthrop Harbor Preschool are placed on our tree. Everyone is invited to take a name and provide a toy, book, and article of warm clothing for the child. The gifts are delivered in time for each school’s Christmas Party.

Heritage Potluck - Sunday, November 15 after the second service
Join us for an event of fun and fellowship!  Let’s celebrate each of our families’ heritages by bringing food to share from our own backgrounds. More information coming soon!

Ornament Exchange - Thursday, December 3, 2009 @ 7:30 pm
Join us for an evening of fun and fellowship. Each person is asked to bring an ornament to exchange with the other participants. 

An Evening of Wine Tasting - Friday, February 19, 2010 @7:30 pm
Join us for an evening of fellowship with the Women and the Men of LCHS.

Holy Spirit Spring Retreat - TBD
Potential for a Women of the Church retreat.  Opportunity for reflection, growth, and fellowship. 

Girls Night Out - April  2010 TBD
An evening just for the girls to relax and enjoy.  Details to be announced.

Rummage Sale - Saturday, June 5, 2010
As you do your Spring Cleaning, start saving items that you would like to donate to this year’s rummage sale. Proceeds from the sale will include helping to renovate areas of the church.

Lutheran Day Nursery Field Trip - June 2010 TBD
WELCA invites all the children from the LDNS to a field trip.  The kids start at Ryerson woods for stories and animals.  Then back to the church for lunch and playing game. This is a great day for the children and everyone involved.
