PADS - Public Action to Deliver Shelter

Public Action to Deliver Shelter is a program that Holy Spirit has participated in for over ten years. Once a month, from October through April, we staff and provide meals for homeless individuals at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wauconda. We also staff the first shift (6pm - 11pm) on site, and attempt to cover all three overnight shifts if possible. Many individuals are needed to responsibly fulfill this ministry. Food preparation and donation sign up sheets are posted in the Narthex beginning in mid September. Volunteers to staff the site are always needed.

Volunteers must complete a one hour orientation session. If you have already completed the orientation in a previous year, you do not need to repeat the session. If every trained volunteer commits to just one evening of staffing during the year, we will easily cover all the dates. Consider being part of this important hands-on ministry.
