History of the Church

Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit began as a neighborhood gathering of faithful friends whose welcoming legacy is felt today in a comfortable wooded setting through the warmth and openness of our members.

The first worship service was held on November 11th, 1962. The congregation was officially organized the following year with a little over 100 members. Worship began in the “carriage house” until the first unit of the church was constructed in 1967. Since that time the church has undergone several remodeling and enlargement projects. The church continues to grow, inviting the faithful to study, pray, grow spiritually, offer outreach and enjoy fellowship.
