CIRCLE OF HOPE COLUMBARIUM AND GARTH
ANNUAL REPORT - 2002 - Reported 1-19-03
The Circle of Hope Columbarium and Garth is evolving into a memorial garden
that serves many purposes. It continues to be a beautiful and inspirational
resting spot for the cremated remains of members of our church and their
families. It serves as a pleasant natural area for a quick stroll after
church services. It proclaims honor and memory on its plaques. And, in
an affirmation of life and joy, it occasionally serves as a backdrop for
wedding photographs and other happy occasions. We're delighted that so
many people appreciate its beauty. The Circle of Hope Columbarium and
Garth is registered as a religious cemetery with the State of Illinois.
Three members of Holy Spirit Church serve as Trustees of the Columbarium
and Garth, in consultation with the pastors and under supervision of the
church council. Current Trustees are Chuck H, Janice E, and Diane N. Thirty-seven
niches have been purchased to date. Monetary gifts to the Columbarium
trust fund, or special shrubs and other plant materials, were donated
in honor or in memory of five persons this year. All memorial gifts have
been recorded in a special book giving thanks to God for the lives lived
and the memories celebrated. All of the donors purchased memorial nameplates
that were installed on special plaques in the memorial garden. Our sincere
thanks go to the Holy Spirit Community for so enthusiastically embracing
and supporting the Circle of Hope Columbarium. We pray that the Circle
of Hope will continue to bring peace to all those who visit it.
