There are a variety of groups at Holy Spirit tailored to a range of special interests and demographics.
Women of the ELCA
WELCA is an organization dedicated to fostering fellowship by sponsoring social events for women of the church. Growing in faith by gathering in Christ's name to serve and support our congregation and the community both locally and worldwide, and through fundraising efforts, we contribute to many benevolences.
Men of Spirit Together
Formed in 1995, the church men's group continues to share food, fellowship, faith and fun. Meetings are scheduled throughout the church calendar, generally from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. All confirmed male members belong to M.O.S.T.
Meeting formats and content vary greatly. A variety of activities thus far has included formal and informal group discussions, softball, wallyball, billiards, dinner meetings, guest speakers, the construction of a patio, a retreat and other special projects.
EXperienced People of Spirit
All retirees are encouraged to join us for good conversation and a lot of laughs. We go on various outings such as the Botanical Garden, listen to guest speakers and celebrate holidays such as Valentine's Day and Christmas.
We also meet monthly with Pastor Tim, during an informal brown bag lunch on the second Tuesday of each month.
Christians United For Fellowship
Social gatherings are a wonderful part of our lives together. In addition to fellowship during Sunday worship, we welcome the congregation to join in adult as well as family-centered events.
Adults enjoy events such as the Progressive Dinner, Beef and Lobster Night, the Chili Cookoff and evenings at Ravinia.
