CLOTHING DRIVE FOR PADS

“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday, September 10th. 

This year marks the 10th anniversary of ELCA’s annual day of service. This year, we are collecting new clothing for PADS. They are in need of       

  •   Men’s and Women’s sweatpants and sweatshirts, M-XL

  •   New Women’s underwear and sports bras, S-2XL

  •   New Men’s underwear/boxers, M-2XL

  •   New Men’s and Women’s Tshirts, M-2XL

Please bring these items to church by Sunday, September 10th.  Items can be placed in the collection bin in the Gathering area. If you have any questions or wish to make a monetary donation, please contact Kari Davenport, karikdavenport@yahoo.com or 773-844-7542.

PADS Shelter Volunteer Opportunities —

Volunteering Group

PADs has resumed limited rotating shelter operations, and St. Mark's Lutheran in Lindenhurst has reached out for volunteers on Fridays.

First Presbyterian in Deerfield is hosting a Sunday PADs site, with more information available at

C.O.O.L Food Pantry

C.O.O.L. food pantry supplies four days of emergency food to clients referred by area agencies and churches. C.O.O.L. also assists those in need with transitional housing as they begin the journey back to self-sufficiency.  In addition to monetary gifts, congregation members are able to participate in hunger issues by actually bringing food to the Church.
